Nike Wu Shu uniforms to go with those nike Wu Shoes Elisa showed earlier...droool

Inspired by EJ's push up awesomeness - I had a go at 100 V-sits this morning....and I did it. (I had to take a 1 minute break at 50..mainly to breathe, but also to stretch.)
Now that I have completed it...I am pretty sure I never want to do it again

After hearing about EJ's awesome pushup achievement, I thought I'd give it a go last night since it was my cardio night anyway. Was funny coz I thought I wouldn't make it when I got to about 50, but despite my arms being flush with blood I managed 100. So that's out of the way. I probably should vid myself doing these as a sort of souvenir for when I'm older. haha!

I stumbled across these pictures by a high speed photographer Martin Klimas (http://www.martin-klimas.de/ )which inspired a thought.

How full of Kung Fu is my Wu Shu?
Is it like these statues? It looks the part, but is hollow inside?

I’ve recently seen a hive of activity with the team who have taken on a 100 reps competition for several types of exercises like press ups, sit ups etc.
It’s been very interesting to see the charge of enthusiasm from the team that took on the assistant coach Mike Yip’s challenge. Even more so the variety of personality types that have taken on the challenge.

On the 3rd of September, head coach Louis MacAllistar was invited to coach the St.Aidans Girl Guides group in Remuera a little bit of stretching & safe training as part of their Sport Stuff activity module. He included a few movements from various Wu Shu styles, & went further more to explain how "regardless of what sport or country, wether you're in New Zealand, or even China- stretching has a universal importance."
The young ladies took to the activity with great enthusiasm, & had many intelligent questions to help consolidate the new knowledge they were learning.

Winter is over, no better time to get out & enjoy the return to dry weather.
With a record 27 days straight of rain, it’s wonderful to expel the early symptoms of cabin fever. Spring is upon us, & with spring comes daylight savings, which in NZ starts 28th September to 5th April- where we spring forward an hour, to give us more time in the day for us to capitalize on.
We also start spring cleaning, where everything gets a thorough cleaning. Taken out of place, polished, vacuumed, scrubbed, & placed back, to be prepared for another year of maintenance.

A bead of sweat stings my eye as it rolls over my brow & rests, slowly diluting on the surface of my naked eyeball. A minor discomfort compared to the ache I feel in the belly of my thigh muscles, both legs, bent & burning, slaving over a hot oven dish of Horse stance.
The year is 1995. One of the best years of my life. The coach is Professor Chen Jia Jun, a native to Shang Hai China, & he drips with prowess of martial ability. Forearms thick like a tug boat’s ropes, calves & thighs that embody the term Iron & Silk.
