(non-)Olympic Wushu

The wushu "olympic event" that ran along side the olympics when wushu failed to get into the olympics.
This is "new" wushu. I provide the rest so people who are interested can check them out, but the one to watch is #8 from Japan. Oh and #9 from China. #9 is good for the technique, but I like #8's routine better.

Wall Street Journal article on Wushu: Inner Peace? Olympic Sport?

Interesting article on wushu and the Olympics. The video is also interesting - you'll have to wait for the sponsor ad at the start to finish first; I think it's worth the wait.

Finally we get to know when Forbidden Kingdom is out in NZ

As we all know Forbidden Kingdom is already released in other countries (dammit!), but not here. Kinda left in the dark we were.
Anyway, it's finally coming to NZ on the 4th of September. Still aaaaaaages away, but at least we have a bearing to look forward to.
Watch out also for the next incarnation of The Mummy, also starring Jet Li, which will be out on the 11th of September. Man, too much excitement for one month!

Basic Nanquan form

For those going through it right now

Simple Old School Wushu

This form has almost everything in it (except front sweep and aerial cartwheel)... and it's performed quite well too.

It's just refreshing to see this, instead of all that ultramodern dance pooshu that's out there these days.
